On December 13, President Obama signed the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act. The Food Research and Action Center has been watching the process, and now that it has been signed into law, they have condensed the long bill into eight facts you need to know. The bill will increase the number of children who qualify for free school lunch and hold the government more responsible when it comes to nutritional standards of food served in schools. The stated goal of the bill is to decrease both childhood hunger and childhood obesity.
