Barry Farms Community Garden (DPR)

Barry Farm Community Garden is at the Barry Farms Recreation Center in Ward 8.  It consists of 5 shallow raised bed structures.  Some kids have decorated the garden by painting colorful pictures of their favorite vegetables.  The garden is fenced in, although the gate is missing.  DPR staff organized planting a few vegetables in 2009, but in 2010 the garden is looking to be adopted by local community members in the Barry Farm area.

The garden was located in the back of the field behind the Rec Center, at 1230 Sumner Rd., SE. Unfortunately, due to displacement by the Department of Housing the garden is not currently operating.
