Rooting DC

A BIG thanks to all who made Rooting DC 2010 wildly successful! 500 gardeners, farmers, cooks, and food justice advocates packed the Historical Society of Washington yesterday for 25 inspiring, informative, important sessions.

We provided free lunch and childcare, raffled off fabulous prizes, and had space for 15 organizations from across the city to spread their words. And here’s the best part: it was all totally free for all participants.

Although excitement and interest in the event has grown exponentially since DC’s first urban agriculture forum in 2008, funding for the event has not. In order for us to keep Rooting DC free, we need you to donate now.

For more on the event, keep your eye on our blog. Ed Bruske has already posted his reflections at the Slow Cook and we got covered by the DCist! Stay connected with Field to Fork through Facebook and while you’re at the computer, follow us on Twitter.

Then, let’s plant some seeds.
