Rooting DC 2011
The 4th Annual Rooting DC Urban Gardening Forum was held from 9am-4:30pm on Saturday February 19, 2011 at Coolidge High School (6315 5th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20012).
Over 500 gardeners, farmers, cooks, and food justice advocates attended Rooting DC 2011. We offered a total of 27 workshops, panel discussions, and cooking demonstrations, including a track for hands-on family-oriented activities, two sessions offered in Spanish, and one yoga for gardeners session! We provided free afternoon childcare through partnership with the DC Childcare Collective, and box lunches were catered by Fresh Start Catering.
Our information fair was packed with 40 organizations and event sponsors, who distributed info and vended gardening products to attendees throughout the day. We ended the day with a free seed give-away, courtesy of America the Beautiful Fund!
Rooting DC remains free and open to the public, organized entirely by volunteers, and funded entirely through donations. In order for us to keep organizing Rooting DC, we ask you to consider making a tax-deductible donation online now. Donate securely online through Paypal
