Rooting DC 2012

The 5th Annual Rooting DC Urban Gardening Forum was held from 9am-4:30pm on Saturday February 18, 2012 at Coolidge High School (6315 5th Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20012).

Over 610 gardeners, farmers, cooks, and food justice advocates attended Rooting DC 2012! We offered a total of 29 workshops, panel discussions, and cooking demonstrations, including a track for hands-on family-oriented activities, and Spanish language translation for 4 workshops!  We provided free afternoon childcare through partnership with the DC Childcare Collective, and box lunches were catered by Fresh Start Catering.

Our information fair was packed with 35 organizations and event sponsors, who distributed info and vended gardening products to attendees throughout the day.  We ended the day with a free seed give-away, courtesy of America the Beautiful Fund!
